Praying for you, Bill. Things are really hard these days for many people. Sorry you're going through these things. Keep your trust in the Lord. He will help you, no matter what. I know it's hard when things seem to continue getting worse. I do wish your mom would cut you some slack. Take care.
Dale, you like the funniest shows! Guess it keeps you young! (Well, you ARE young!)
Wonderful work you are doing, Bob! It's going to be really good for the kids who get the toys... when they thought they might not get anything... God bless you.
As Grumpy pointed out in his post, it has wide spread effects when companies are laying people off or the companies fold. And, the auto industry even more so because they depend on so many other industries to make the vehicles. What is our legislature thinking about in delaying help to these companies? The workers are not to blame. They do not make the policies or design the vehicles or decide to make the huge gas guzzlers. The CEOs should all be replaced with sensible people who would make policies that are friendly to American car sales. I know that I have bought foreign made cars in recent years. My friends with American cars have had a lot of trouble (the built in obsolescence factor?) Who knows, but someone must know, and they should be able to contribute to the rebuilding of these companies.
Yes, I've been reading about how many people are affected when a group gets laid off or a company shuts its doors. If Wall Street gets bailed out, I don't see why these American companies aren't. The unions are not to blame at all. California has a powerful teachers union, and I always was glad they did. Unions keep things fair.
Gosh, so many celebrities that I knew as a kid, are going... I remember the Jeffersons.
Wonder if he felt he should have gotten some punishment... had some guilt. His poor kids must have been living a horrible life. Hope they're okay.
Fredo, I think you and Steve must have posted at the same time. I heard that the judge is "hard as nails." I didn't think he was going to get cut much slack. And, he won't be out during the appeal.
Jon, you are so prolific, and yet so good! Great painting!!
As I was reading your post, I was thinking exactly (or partly) what Jon said. If you lived out here in CA, you would be surrounded with Obama supporters. Didn't your state go heavily Red? Well, most of the south did, as I recall. As to your friends... you can find better friends. I think I keep mine by not seeing them much, or even talking to them much. I don't advise this...
It's not complaining when things are so hard! I do see a lot of trucks all of the time on our freeways. It is hard on a lot of families, I guess. The states do make a lot from all of the licenses that they make truckers pay. When I see the trucks, they all have the entire back of the trucks filled with license plates and other stuff... I know it's good he has the work, but it's so hard on you... How is the housekeeper working out?
I do like Teal's answer! I like Obama. He's doing quite a lot to get ready to take over the mess! I think he'll hit the ground running on day one. That's a phrase I'm really REALLY tired of... The former prezes... I guess they need something to do. Too much time on their hands (except Nixon and Johnson).
I think it gets slow when Eddie isn't around tending it, Hobbie!
Great post! Now exactly who/what is Olin Mills? And, who are these people?
