Movie Reviews ...

Warning, this post will contain random rants and raves about movies and about people.  If you're reading it and you can't handle it, please moveon.org.
Over the past few weeks I have been able to see a few movies, which is pretty awesome.  None of the movies that I saw had anything to do with the acadamy awards.  I like to see those movies too but most of the movies that I see don't win acadamy awards.
I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic on V-day with my good friend N.  This is a movie that is based upon a series of novels by Sophia Kinsella. The author is pretty awesome and weaves an amazing story.  The movie was well, kind of ho, hum.  The book was written in London, not New York where the movie takes place.  I am also not a big fan of the city of New York for various reasons.  The overall plotline had little to do with the book as well other than it told the story of a girl who was a shopaholic.  My BFF who is currently unemployed loved this movie.  This perturbed me in many ways, because she was comparing it to another movie which I enjoyed immensely.
The next movie I saw was He's Just Not That Into You which was also a based upon a book.  It weaves vignettes or stories of people who's lives are intertwined and applies the general concepts to the story.  I find dating and relationship movies just fascinating in general, perhaps because I am a single girl out in the trenches.  However, my BFF is married and she didn't like one aspect of the story.  When a man cheats on his wife.  I am sorry but guess what? People cheat on their spouses, and significant others in a rampant way.  Why? I don't pretend to understand this motivation.  But the story did and does resonate with the single girl.  I will give you that.  Does being married all of a sudden transport you to a planet that you can't remember what ASSHOLES men and women can be? I am an equal opportuntity hater, believe me because I know some women who are worse than any many I have ever encountered.

Has it gotten easier to cheat on your wife in this day and age? The internet and the social networking sites make it easy to fake your relationship status and connect with former or future flames.  Is this a good thing? Probably not! At the end of the day there are bad people out there and sometimes they happen to good people.  People do cheat on their loved one's.  It's sad but does that mean I shouldn't enjoy a movie because of it? Nope.  Sorry for this Monday rant, sometimes you just wonder where your BFF has gone and why all of a sudden they can't relate to you on many levels.
Happy Monday!
