I Have Kissed A Lot Of Frogs...

Mediocrity ...

It's become a standard thing for America's to think that they fall in the middle of everything. People want to be "average," and they want to have the "American Dream." For those not from this land of opportunity, this dream would consist of a family (husband, wife, 2.2 kids, a dog, and a home that they own, along with the debt to support it).

It startles me that this guy I went out with this morning would strive for just that, mediocrity. Isn't the idea of first dates to make a great impression? One would think. This gentleman, while perfectly nice, was just plain ordinary. There was nothing exciting about his looks, his personality, or his demeanor.

Throughout the 1.5 hour that we hung out, we discussed, dogs. Which I like to do just fine, but he had absolutely nothing interesting to say. Are you bored reading this post yet? Because I was bored going on this date.

The plan was to meet up at the National Mall at 10 am. However, the Cherry Blossom parade was set to begin at this very time. I realized this in the nick of time and relocated our meeting spot to a coffee house. Guess who had to buy her own coffee? Me. Guess how I felt about it? Not pleased in the least. I would have been fine buying my own coffee if I were meeting up with a friend. However, this was supposed to be an exciting date.

Bottom line, this guy gets a D- for a first impression and will not be getting a second date, nor a nickname. I guess it was good practice?

I am off to get into some trouble tonight with some peeps. Hope to have some fun stories to report! :-) Happy Saturday!
