I Have Kissed A Lot Of Frogs...

It's Hard to Find the Words ...

When you lose a pet in your life it's really hard to describe that feeling of loss. I can tell you that my heart still hurts for Max who passed away two years ago. He and I spent a lot of QT together and he lived a great life.

Another dog has been called up to the higher powers that be, Bishop. An old roommate, and a friend he was to me. He's been in our lives for less than 8 years and it appears that the deadly, evil, and awful disease of cancer has taken over his body. He's got a tumor the size of a baseball in his lung and some nodules that have metstastized.

Believe it or not, it's harder to learn about this than when I learned that SD cheated on me. This I am taking very hard. I haven't slept for a few days and my heart hurts for my friend M and her doggie.

The good news is that he's had a rich and full life and he's been loved in a way that no other person could have loved him. I feel blessed to have known him, to have had this dog in my life. Spike would not have been the same without him in his life. This was his only friend until we hung out with Kara (neighbor's dog).

He is not in pain, and they will keep him comfortable and eating until it's his time to go. It could be a day, a week, a month or several of any of these.

Hug your pet today and treasure every moment you've got with them. They're here too short and touch our lives in ways that we cannot even comprehend.
