Nine-Year-Old Tommy Wolf shown here in a 2008 picture taken on a cub scout outing, was murdered by his father yesterday .
In a shocking turn of events in Nichols Hills, one of Oklahoma City's most exclusive neighborhoods, Â a doctor turned on his only son in the early hours yesterday, stabbing the youth to death.Â
After his mother frantically beat on her neighbor's door, crying, "He's killing my son," police arrived following the 911 call to find Dr. Stephen Wolf, in the kitchen of their $500,000 home attacking Tommy Wolf, the couple's nine-year-old son.  The doctor was covered in blood.
The boy had one knife in his head and another in his chest as the doctor continued to assault the boy even as the policeman tried to pull him off and the boy convulsed.
"He's got the devil in him," the doctor screamed. "You know he does."Â
Tommy, who was the couple's only biological child, was pronounced dead at the scene. His mother was transported to Integris Baptist Hospital for treatment to her hands, which had been cut as she tried to protect her son. She was released later in the day.
The fifty-one-year old Wolf, who has battled depression since his days in medical school in the 80's,was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a murder charge.
Wolf, who had to drop out of medical school for a year because of depression, was under the care of a psychologist for treatment of alcoholism and depression. He was on medication.
He was hospitalized just before his marriage for another bout with depression, which he said was the result of the stress of his upcoming marriage and the rigors of his internship.
Neighbors expressed shock, stating that Tommy was a nice little boy who often played with their children at the local country club. Â One neighbor, who was also a patient of Dr. Wolf's, stated that he always was diligent in his patient care, expressing concern for their welfare.
"I had no idea anything was wrong," she added. "I saw his wife every morning walking the family dog."
Tentative funeral arrangements for the youth are set for Friday. He was a third grader at Christ the King Catholic School.
