I went to have my work-up today at the cardiologist before my surgery.  My EKG was fine; my echo cardiogram that I had in December that the cardiologist had faxed over was "unremarkable", as he put it.
However, due to the fact that my father died of a heart attack and one of my brothers had a heart attack, he thinks I still need the stress test before I have surgery.
Now, here's the kicker!!  The earliest that they could schedule the stress test is May 21.  My protests did absolutely no good.  So, I have to call my orthopedic surgeon with the bad news.  Unless he can be more persuasive than I was, it looks as though my surgery will be on hold until then.
