I have been informed that Maria (Aussie Girl) posted 100 things...not 50...about herself; therefore I still owe you guys 50 more interesting facts about my life. Whatever! Here we go.
51. I dearly love that ol' time rock 'n roll. You know who I mean: Buddy Holly, Rick Nelson, Elvis, Bill Haley & The Comets, etc., etc., etc.Â
52. I saw Elvis and The Beatles the first time they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. I was much more impressed with Elvis.
53. The only time I ever saw my dad cry was the day we watched President Kennedy's funeral on TV.
54.   I could ride a horse at full gallop at five years of age. Horses became my lifelong love and passion.
55. I was a tomboy growng up who loved to play "Cowboys and Indians," baseball, and basketball with my brothers. Yes, we used real horses when we played "Cowboys and Indians"!
56. My favorite pony was a colt my dad bought for me whom I named Prince. Even before he was old enough to ride, he would come to me and eat sugar cubes from my hand.
57. One of the funniest things I remember was when our bull charged my cousin across our pasture. Jackie was barefoot but he raced across that pasture, stickers and all, and headed for the horse tank. He jumped in, clothes and all. My brothers and I, who had warned him not to taunt the bull, laughed til we cried. Â
58. On bad weather days, our dad taught us how to play poker, using matchsticks for wagers. He love to invent crazy games, such as Dr. Pepper. That's when 10's, 2's, and 4's were wild.  According to popular commercials back then, those hours were "Dr. Pepper Time."
59. The happiest two days of my life were the days my children were born.
60. The next three happiest days were the days my grandchildren were born.
61. I cut the umbilical cord when Bailey (my first granddaughter) was born because her dad was about to faint. The doctor, looking at him said, "Dad, you don't look so good. Why don't you sit there on the floor and lean your head back."
62. The saddest day of my life was the day I graduated from college because the two men I loved most were not there to see it.  It was my father's dream that all his children have a college education. I was the first,  but he died suddenly a week before my graduation. The other man in my life was, of course, Gordon. We had broken up about a year previously.
63. My first car was a '65 Mustang that my parents bought for me as a graduation present about a month before my father passed away. I loved that car! Wish I had it now. It cost $2300 dollars in 1965.  Can you imagine what it would be worth today?!?
64. The most satisfying thing in my life is the way my two daughters have lived their lives. We've  had a few bumps along the way but never any major hurdles. I can honestly say that they are my two best friends now.  We share everything.
65. The most devastating day of my life was the day that I discovered Gordon had lied to me and was cheating on me.
66. My favorite US city is San Antonio followed closely by Washington D.C.
67. The most beautiful states I have visited are Virginia, Colorado, and California.Â
68. The most fun I ever had at a job was working at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens--you just had to be there!!
69. The most fun I ever had personally was my 21st birthday. Great memories of a trip to Oklahoma City to celebrate.
70. The most frightening day of my life was the day we admitted Holly at Age four months to the hospital to discover she had meningitis.
71. The biggest disappointment in my life was my husband.
72. The greatest blessing of my life has been my restored health following breast cancer.
73. The greatest joys in my lfe have been the moments I have spent one-on-one with my grandchildren--just the two of us going out to breakfast, to the bookstore to pick out a special book, shopping or sitting on the porch swing "sharing" thoughts". They have confided amazing things to me during those times.
74. I hate roller coasters. They scare me to death. Holly and Kenna, on the other hand, love them to this day. They wll ride any roller coaster anytime, anywhere. The tilt-a-whirl has always been about as daring as I get.
75. If I could visit any place in the world, it would be the Middle and Near East to walk where Christ walked and to follow the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan. I would love to march seven times around the ancient site of Jerico, to climb that laborious incline to Golgotha, to visit the manger in Bethlehem, and to stand on the banks of  the river of Galilee where Christ walked on water and sat on the mountainside preaching the Sermon on the Mount as well as feeding the five thousand.
Whew!!! This is harder than the first 50! Here are 51 through 75. You'll get the other 25 in a day or two! My brain is tired!!!Â
