a doubt I always thought no two days could ever mean more to me than
those two moments in time when I held each of my daughters in my arms
for the first time. I was one of those mothers--aren't we all, I
guess--who fell instantly in love the moment I saw them. And that love
has grown with each year.
I recall when my older daughter was about three saying to my mother, "Before we know it, she will be starting to school."
My mother looked at me, smiled and said, "Before you know it, she will be graduating from school."
I
just never dreamed then how quickly the years would fly by...now, I'm
watching them soar by even more quickly as my grandchildren grow. It
just seems impossible that my grandson could be 15, that Big Sissy is
12, and Little Buddy is 6.
But
speaking of sweet days! I thought the days my children were born were
special. They didn't begin to compare with the days my grandchildren
were born because I not only got to have that great joy of instant love
once more but I also got to watch my daughters experience it as well.Â
There
are no words to explain the emotions I felt standing beside them as I
watched them hold their children in their arms for the first time.Â
Here were the two people whom I loved so dearly holding this tiny
bundle that we all now loved together.
My
daughters do not plan to have any more children. Breaks my heart. I'd
love to get to have those wonderful feelings surge through all of us
just one more time.
