Today in Soonerland:
This was the scene this morning following yesterday's ice storm. Â Today, we received seven inches of snow here in the metro on top of the ice from yesterday. Â All across western Oklahoma and the Oklahoma panhandle both ice and snow totals were even higher. Â Power outages are common throughout the western part of the state. Â
We have had sporadic power outages here in Oklahoma City; but nothing too severe. Â I will get some shots of the snow tomorrow. Â This is Oklahoma's second major snowstorm this winter, the first, of course, being the 14 inches that fell on Christmas Eve.
That probably seems like nothing to my friends in states to the north and east. Â However, it is unusual for central Oklahoma. Â Not so unusual for western Oklahoma, the Panhandle and northern Oklahoma. Â
I was not here for the Christmas blizzard; the snow today, however, was lovely as there was little wind. Â It was beautiful falling.
More tomorrow from Soonerland. Â Â
