I have been feasting on an orgy of six-year-old birthday surprises this past week, ala Little Buddy. Well, some were also adult fun as well.Â
Daughter #2, husband, Little Buddy and
Big Sissy met my plane in St. Louis a week ago yesterday. After
getting settled in our hotel, we ate at a nice, private Mexican
restaurant, dining outside because the weather was so nice.
The girls then went for a swim back at the hotel. On Sunday, we attended a Cardinals game; that is, until the sixth inning when the girls got so bored we were forced to leave. Naturally, St. Louis scored its only two runs in the seventh.
On
Monday we drove back to their home, since everyone had school or work
on Tuesday. Thursday was actually Little Buddy's birthday, so the
whole family participated in baking her a cake Wednesday night.Â
Thursday evening we had our family party.
Yesterday
was Little Buddy's birthday party with her friends. We took 17 little
girls to the movies; but I must say they could not have been better.Â
We met in the party room at the theater; the movie people had reserved
seats for all of us as well as popcorn and drinks. It worked out just
fine.
Today,
we top off her birthday week by attending the circus. Next week will be
a real let down, I'm sure, although Little Buddy has enough new toys to
keep her occupied at least a few days.
Her
gift from Mom, Dad, Daughter #1, Grandson, and I is a new trampoline
with a net which Dad will be assembling while we are at the circus.Â
And that's my update...what's yours?
