Constantine in History, Christiandom, & Prophecy

Note:  If you find the link between history, Christianity,  and prophecy fascinating, as I do, then you will enjoy this post.
Christianization of the Roman Empire

In
spite of all attempts to stamp out Christianity through vigorous
persecution, in favor of paganism, Christianity flourished and
continued to spread and grow.

By the end of the Imperial persecutions (A.D. 313) Christians numbered about one-half the population of the Roman Empire.

Constantine The Great

  His Conversion:  In
the course of his wars with competitors, to establish himself on the
throne, on the eve of the battle of Milvain Bridge, just outside Rome
(October 27, A.D. 312), he saw in the sky, directly above the setting
sun, a vision of the Cross, and above it the words,  "In This Sign
Conquer."  He decided to fight under the banner of Christ, and he won
the battle, a turning point in the history of Christianity.

Edict of Toleration

Constantine,
granted by his Edict of Toleration (A.D. 313), the right of Christians
and all others full liberty of following that religion which each may
choose (the first edict of its kind in history); however he favored
Christianity in every way.

He
filled his chief offices with Christians, exempted Christian ministers
from taxes and military service, encouraged and helped in the building
of churches, made Christianity the religion of the Court; furthermore,
because the Roman aristocracy persisted in adhering to their pagan
religions, Constantine moved his capitol to Byzantium and called it
Constantinople, "New Rome,", capitol of the new Christian Empire.

Split of Roman Empire

This precipitated an eventual split in the Roman Empire into the Eastern Empire and the Western Empire of Rome.
Sunday Becomes Day of Worship

He ordered for the churches of Constantinople 50 Bibles, to be prepared under the direction of Eusebius;
he made the Christians'  day of assembly Sunday and declared it a rest
day, forbidding ordinary work; he also permitted Christian soldiers to
attend church services.  This rest for one day a week meant much to
slaves.

Slavery,
gladiatorial fights, killing of unwelcome children and crucifixion were
all abolished with the Christianization of the Roman Empire.

The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire in AD 337
The empire at the death of Constantine the Great

Roman Emperor Constantine (307-337AD), who waited until he was on his death bed before submitting to baptism, was the first (political) Christo-pagan. This is significant in prophecy, in as much as, this was a pivotal point in history where the separation of church and state ceased to exist since ancient Israel  This was the unofficial beginning of the "unHoly Roman Empire."

The Ten Horns of Daniels Prophecy

By 324 AD. Constantine is emperor over the ten territories of the entire Roman Empire, which are prophesied as, "The Ten Horns or Kingdoms of Daniel's Prophecy," and they were: (1) Spain (includes Portugal or Lusitania), (2) Gaul (France), (3) Germany, (4) Britain, (5) Italy, (6) Rhaetia (Tyrol and Bavaria or portions of Switzerland and Austria), (7) North Africa, (8) Pannoniae (portions of Hungary and Yugoslavia), (9) Moesia (Goth or Bulgaria in Asia Minor), (10) Thrace (Greece and Turkey in Asia Minor).

In order to gain control over all of the Roman Empire (both the Western and Eastern legs), Constantine had to overcome three other Roman Emperors: (1) Maximian in 310AD., (2) Maxentius in 312AD., and (3) Licinius in 324AD. , but these three Roman emperors were not the three horns that were overcome by the "Little Horn Full of Eyes." Why? Because Constantine did not make war against the Saints, as required by Daniel 7:25,
and neither did he change the Times and the Laws of Yahweh. But he did
lay the foundation that would give rise to the catholic church.

Daniel 7:7-8, 23-26

7 After this I saw in the night-visions, and, behold, a fourth animal (Roman Empire) awesome and powerful, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet: and it was diverse from all the animals (World Powers) that were before it; and it had ten horns (the conquered kingdoms or territories listed above at the time of Constantine in 324 AD.).
8 I considered the horns (conquered kingdoms), and, behold, there came up among them another horn (Roman catholic church), a little one (a small power), before which three (True Believing, "Arian" kingdoms and or Rulers) of the first (ten) horns were plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes (a successions of church leaders) like the eyes of a man (The eyes of all the Popes), and a mouth speaking great things (such as, "I have the authority of god to change the "Times" and the "Laws" of Yahweh).

Note: almost all of the Roman emperors were declared to be a god.

The Four Animals or the Image of Nebuchadnezzars Dream
(Daniel Chapter 2)

23 Thus he said, The fourth animal (Roman Empire) shall be a fourth (World Power) kingdom on Earth, which shall be diverse from all the (previous three) kingdoms (the World Powers of Babylon, Assyria, and Greece), and shall (eventually) devour (conquer) the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

The Ten Horns or Ten Territories of the Roman Empire

24 As for the ten horns (ten conquered territories listed above that made up the Western and Eastern legs of the Roman Empire), out of this (fourth World Power) kingdom (Roman Empire) shall ten (Roman) kings arise (The
Emperors: Constantine, Constantine II, Constans, Constantius II, Julian
"The Apostate", Jovian, Valens, Valentinian, Gratian, and Theodosius)
; and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the former, and he shall put down (suppress the faith of) three (True Believer) kings (The Arian followers of Yahshua and Roman Emperors: Constantius II, Valens, and Valentinian.). See "The Arian Controversy."

25 He shall speak words (abominations and false doctrines) against the Most High (Yahweh), and shall wear out (try to destroy) the (Arian Believers) saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times (Yahweh's Holy Calendar; the beginning of years, months, weeks, and days) and the law (Yahweh's Commandments); and they (the True Arian Saints) shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time (1,260 years or 1,260 prophetic days or 42 prophetic months or 3 1/2 prophetic years).

26 But the judgment shall be set, and they (Yahweh's True Believers) shall (ultimately) take away his (Satan's) dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end.

Note: There were ten major tribes in and out of Roman control. They are the Vandals, Visigoths, Suevi, Alans, Burgundians, Franks,
Britions, Huns, Lombards and Ravenna. Of these ten, there were three
who were well known to be Tribes of Arian Believers that did not believe in the pagan concept later known as the Trinity. They were the Goths
(Visigoths and-or Ostrogoths including some Heruli), the Vandals, and the Burgundians (who later converted under force to catholicism).

There is some evidence that at least some of the Ravenna were Arian as well. Interestingly enough these three major tribes (located on the eastern or Arian side of the Roman empire) were in some way allianced with at least one of the three Arian Followers of Yahshua.
Roman emperors: Constantius II, Valens (Allianced with the Goths), or Valentinian (weak in the faith, but allianced with the Burgundians). However, it would be impossible to establish these tribes as the ten kingdoms, because (1) there were many other tribes in addition to these ten,
(2) The people were migratory while kingdoms are not migratory, and
(3) directing the prophecy of Revelation away from the political and
religious lineage of the Roman beast would be contrary to the efforts
of Yahweh to establish the fourth beast of iron as Roman Religious
Government or Rule.

Special Note: Remember, the True Assemblies (Candlesticks or Lampstands) before the throne of Yahweh (Revelation 1:12-20) were located in Asia Minor, which is in the Eastern Leg of the Roman Empire (Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey). I believe that you will find it interesting that the Eastern Region of the Roman Empire (where the True Assemblies of Yahweh were located) was simply voted out of power by the Western Roman Catholics, where this false church is still located.everyone seemed to be practicing, and preaching, patience.
