A couple of weeks ago, I got a beautiful Husky from the local dog pound. I had checked with them a couple of weeks previously and the husky was there, but I just wasn't sure if I could handle a northern sled dog.
So I went back and asked to take her for a walk. We had a lovely walk in the woods nearby and I said I'd take her.
I plonked down $90 and she was mine.
At my house, she made herself right at home. She rolled and rolled on the grass, happy not to be restricted to concrete and chainlink any longer.
The carpets quickly turned from brown to beige with white spots due to a wee bit of shedding. Her northern coat was quickly becoming my northern coat. Off to the dollar store where I bought out their supply of lint brushes. Then I realized: this fur is like bunny fur - no stiff hairs in it at all. So I found the dog rake which removes fluff at a rate of about 1 lb per minute.
Time to really get spinning and sharing this wonderful stuff with nittineedles.
