Urgent Help, Please!

I'm going to have an english news reading contest at this university. What I wanted to ask for is :

1. What do you say at the beginning of the news? I mean the opening u knw.

2. What words can I use to combine two news without making ppl mixd up?

3. What do you say after delivering the news? the closing.

Please, do please leave a comment. I really need help.

Comments:

1) Most TV news anchors say either "good morning", or "good evening" depending on the time of day, followed by "I'm John Doe.", followed by the beginning of the "top story".

2)"in other news", or if the next story is related to the first: "And then there's this item from..."

3)The most famous closing on American TV was Walter Kronkite with "And that's the way it is...." (so don't use that). You could say perhaps, "And that concludes our broadcast for this evening, good night from XXX News".
