Can't agree here. While our leaders may have made grievous errors in the past getting us involved in conflicts in which we do not belong, the brave soldiers do not make these decisions, they merely do their job. With the obvious exceptions of William Calley and his ilk, I do view many of them as heroes. In fact, when I run into a member of our armed forces in an airport, I always make it a point to thank them for their service.

And I assume D does not mean it in the same sense Mark Sanford did.

Sounds like a win-win-win proposition. I know you love the scenery out there, but Tennessee has some beautiful areas also. Google "Stunning Tennessee scenery".

I enjoyed the Eastwood movie but LOVED 42. I hope it gets out to your neck of the woods soon. As for whether Moneyball or Trouble With The Curve got it right, the truth is probably somewhere in between.

I am exactly the same way. I recently purchased a relatively small piece of furniture that required assembly and, before I even opened the box, I scanned craigslist for furniture assemblers. In actuality, I gave it a try myself and thanks to very good instructions was able to complete the work myself. I was quite proud of myself for doing what many people would consider a laughably easy task.

I don't care for any alcoholic beverages but, from what I've been told, the buzz you experienced may not have been from a fly.

So that's where Sadie Hawkins came from. I never knew since I didn't read the strip. I was (and still am) more of a Peanuts and Blondie fan.

I agree with you that rap is not music. When I was a kid, you could go into a store and buy sheet music for a song. I don't think that is possible with rap. Is it a coincidence that rap rhymes with crap? I think not!

I surrendered in my battle against ants a little over a year ago and hired Terminix. I must say the company has done a good job keeping me ant and roach free.

We are all at risk but, given your remote location, your risk is infinitesimal.

When I was a kid, adults talked about coffee like it was a drug ("I wish I had never become hooked"). As a result, I avoided it until I was about 45. My first cup I hated, although I have always liked coffee ice cream. I have since discovered the joys of a Frappucino, although I limit myself to two a week.

Your brother the math prof is back in the country and, not surprisingly, he doesn't have a clue.
