Concert at the Beach

My wife and I are in for a real treat today. We're seeing the Boston Pops Orchestra this afternoon in a classic concert being performed at the popular Jones Beach Theater here on Long Island, NY. This is a full afternoon event but worth listening to. The Boston Pops Orchestra will be playing the entire 4 hour traditional favorite summer song of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. ". There will be a 15 minute intermission after the 51st bottle lyrics are sung. The lyrics can be purchased for a nominal fee at the Jones Beach box office. Sadly, Arthur Fiedler will not be conducting due to his late status. He will be decomposing.

With you there's no telling when your posts are serious. This was Ok except for the beer bottles. But anyway...
I'm originally from Queens and my mother used to take me and my bros to Jones beach by bus and a couple of trains. I think there was a second fare for the second train or something like that. But I got my serious sunburns at an early age. Thanks mar

We haven't been to Jones Beach Theater in years. As far as just going to the beach...we are not beach people. Our daughter has gone there at times or some of the North Shore beaches out East. We have our pools in our Pocono community which I used to go to years ago when our daughter was much much younger. We go to the Poconos about one weekend a month or so.

Hi. Stay well. Stay cool. Stay dry. Lots of high humidity and rain here lately. Summer concerts all over Long Island and many are free too.

We've actually seen several of the summer concerts over the years at the Jones Beach Theater. . Regulars include Chicago and Journey. My favorite years ago was the Moody Blues. Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner, among others too. A Hundred Bottles Of beer on the Wall not my favorite tune. We saw the Boston Pops years ago by us at Queens College around Christmas, I think. Jones Beach is a popular beach during the summers here in NY. The several parking lots get filled up early. The traffic heading home West from Jones Beach on hot summer Sunday evenings is a nightmare.
