We had an interesting start to our day this morning. At 10 to 6 this morning the fire alarm goes off in our building. You always think you have a plan about what you would do if caught in a crisis like this. I thought I would grab pictures and important documents and make our way calmly to the outside area. No way!

Ended up grabbing the dogs and making sure Andrea had her O2 tank, we both had our keys and we made a dash for outside. Some plan. The entire building was evacuated. Some moron set his mattress on fire. And then decided to drag the mattress down the halls and out the door.

Lots of smoke, no real danger but sure made me think about really having a plan. We live on the second floor and are right beside the stairwell which is good.

it was like an impromptu tenants association meeting when we got outside. What some girls won't do to get Fireman to drop in. One of them asked Andrea if she was okay and I said "No, she needs mouth to mouth and you have to take your shirt off!!"

So that's how my day started .... the last picture is Andrea with the only thing we thought to grab.... the chihuahua!
