My parents were immigrants, they worked hard, they managed to pass that on to me, I failed somewhat in passing it on to the next generation, and they have totally abandoned the concept with their children. I see an sense of entitlement in youth today I would have been hard pressed to identify 20 years ago. It's like they start in the mailroom and expect to move into the President's suite within a couple of weeks.
Ok, I'm off track here, what I really wanted to say is that you need passion for your work, it needs to give you joy and sustain you in ways that only loving what you do can provide. If you are not happy doing what you are doing, then find something that does float your boat.
Look at the joy on this face! Here he is working in desperate situations probably for a pittance (it is the South China Sea just after a typhoon) this man is having a blast. That is what caught my eye when I took the photo.
