Cranberry Turkey Breast, Slow Cooker

This recipe from allrecipes.com sounds really good:

Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast

Serves 8

1 (16 ounce) can cranberry sauce
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup orange juice
1 (3 pound) boneless turkey breast
Directions

Place the cranberry sauce in a bowl, and mash. Mix in the onion soup mix and orange juice together until the mixture is well combined.
Spray the inside of a slow cooker with cooking spray, and place the turkey breast into the cooker. Pour the sauce ingredients over the turkey breast. Set the cooker on Low, and cook until the turkey breast is very tender, about 7 hours.

I really need a slow cooker big enough to fit my turkey breast in! Of course, mine still has its bones. Betcha you could still baste the bejabbers out of it with this mix, though!

I think baking it in a Dutch oven at a low temperature would come close. Isn't it a strange concept that we'd buy more than one crock pot so we'd have different sizes? I'm close to that point.

Another brilliant 'mouth watering delight' (and simple to make too, which is a bonus)

I'd be using dried cranberries and adding some wine or dry vermouth since that's what I've got on hand. Summer is my time to cook and winter is my time to dream about it.

A really slow oven and a covered casserole would probably work, but use more energy, I'm sure.
