I was talking to a co-worker on the phone today, and she told me that you are allowed three great loves in your life. I find it ironic that while I'm healing my heart from number three, I ran into number two at tonight's White Sox Game.

While waiting in line at the gate, I saw Karl. The last time I saw Karl was in divorce court more than two years ago. He looked spooked like he had just seen a ghost. He couldn't get through that gate fast enough. He looked absolutely petrified.

The fact that I could cause him to act this way made me feel drunk with power. I laughed at how uncomfortable I made him feel. I joked around about how I should text him or call him. I just couldn't believe that I could have this kind of power over someone.

Karl has been on my mind a lot lately. Yesterday would have been our seven year anniversary, so I always get sentimental around this time of the year.

After the game, Andy and I were walking towards the front of the train. I knew that I would run into Karl again on the train. I could just feel it. We ducked into the first car, and there he was. He didn't see us. I joked with Andy that I should go over and ask him "So, come here often." Andy convinced me to behave though.

When I checked my phone, I saw that he called. I decided to call him right back. I watched him answer the phone and told him to turn his head to the right. He laughed and came over to talk. We had a really nice talk about old friends. Andy left the train, and Karl and I kept catching up. Apparently the vet still calls him whenever I bring Mouse in for a check up. I wished him a happy un-anniversary, and we laughed. He got up to get off the train and asked if we could be ok. I said that it was a long time ago. We gave each other a nice big hug, and he wished me a happy anniversary.

The universe is very mysterious and strange. We didn't talk about our love lives, but she did call while we were talking. Women always know.

I like to think that we get as many loves in our lives as we manifest. My first three didn't work out, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop looking.
