Fair dinkum absolutely well and truly conked out, my son Wayne came over this morning with 13 year old grandson shaun in tow he wanted to show me a a camp spot only 40 minutes away that he had found, told me that he got the ok from owner of property to camp there.
It was at a town off the main rd to the Barossa valley wine region called Rosedale ---never heard of it but must have passed the turn off a heck of a lot of times and to even have a sign post is a wonder, must be about 6 houses in main st and nothing else and the bitumen rd ran out at the end
From there we went down a few dirt roads up and down hills where i must say the scenery was really good, nice and green --vineyards now with their winter coats --ewes with lambs at foot with the odd farm house here and there.
Eventually he stopped before a steep descent going down to a creek at the bottom where he asked me if my camper would be able to go down okay YEAH! i said going down would be ok but coming up no bloody way -(imagining my Cath screaming all the way down and up was enough to give me the short and curleys)
So over the top and down we go in his 4 wheel drive, just stoppimg before the creek much to my relief, out we get and walk over to a locked gate, havent got the key he says and the fence is electrified can you climb over, 6ft chain mesh --pigs bum to that. on a post i found a switch that turns the power off on one side of fence --turned it off told Wayne to check the wire ( i'm not silly ) it was off so i climbed through.
The spot would make a great week end camp --rabbits to snare -- the creek has waterholes to fish in -- spotted a few roos --gumtrees to sit under if warm and so close to home. together we walked both up and down the creek and by the time i got back to the car i was Knackered.
We came back up ok then he went in a circle around the town and came back in another way from where we could see the place from the opposite direction where lo and behold we could see another way in which he is going to sus out. when we got home grandson got on puter-- into google earth and i could see where we had been and the other road into it, clever little bugger
