Dolphins and More

Have visitors from interstate staying with us for a week , Glyn and her mother Dawn from a country town Heathcote Victoria.
Cath has Glyn, a friend she met in a musical room on Paltalk some years back , these days with on OOVOO chat , most evenings they chat face to face along with Lany another woman in England , just as well its free for they meet up each evening.
Twice now we have stayed at Glynns' when we have been travelling , she has been here once before travelling by bus , this time her 80 year old mother came with her whom we had met once before , hard to believe but this is her first time she has ever left Melbourne where she lives and is really excited .
Had a rest day on Saturday just chatting ( as if they they hadn’t done any before) more or less just settled in. Yesterday we went a tour boat on the Port River on the Dolphin Cruiser , the port river is the only 2nd place in the world with a permanent pod of dolphins and are a great tourist attraction, they even have been named by the conservation group that takes care of them .
Port Adelaide was once a very busy port but with modernisation only small ships come up the river these days and by deepening the outer harbour most ships load there , even the Queen Mary cruise ship comes in there. There is a ship yard that has built our navy submarines and at present are building destroyers that you can see as you go past, there was one sub in for repairs when we went past.

Ships (and trains) are more interesting to me than dolphins.

I love dolphins. They seem so free and joyous.

there is 2 seperate pods , the river itself is an estuary the main branch is for shipping with one pod, the other is the one used for recreation and is more open with the other

"is the only 2nd place in the world"--and the first? I know we have a couple of groups down here in South Florida!
Her first time out of Melbourne? See you are never too old to experience new things--of course when she gets back she might say "So what?"

Dawn has more life in her than her daughter
