Worst Camping Trip Ever ...

My worst camping trip ever was in Canada. My uncle owns some property up there, so my family, grandparents, and uncles family (they had 10 children at that time) went to spend the week there.

We left early from my Grandparents house in Wisconsin and drove, drove and drove some more, up through Minnisota and finally across the Canadian border. We drove quite a few hours after we crossed the border. I can't remember the name of the place where we stayed, I'll have to ask my parents, but it was in the WILDERNESS! The adults all stayed in two cabin that my uncle has there and all the grandkids had to sleep in tents. It was cold, mosquitos were everywhere, scary sounding loons kept calling to us from the Lake, I don't think I slept much that week. To top it off a few miles, or kilometers down the road was a dump where we went to watch the bears eat people's left over trash!! I just knew a bear or a moose was going to attack our tent in the middle of the night!!! My grandmother tripped and fell off the porch and twisted her ankle, the way she screamed and yelled was just hilarious!! My grandmother is VERY dramatic:D They left a few days early, guess she didn't want to continue to rough it with a sprained ankle.

My family LOVES to fish, I went a few times, but didn't have any luck, so decided to stay on dry land. My cousins all swam and bathed everyday in the lake, but I thought it was too cold. I opted to heat water on the stove and take a warm bath:D Guess I'm just spoiled or something. The menfolk did catch lots of fish though, and we had lots of good fillets that week. Northerners really know how to fillet a fish!

Besides that though, it was a nice place and I would go back again IF I could stay in a cabin.  On the way back to WI we stopped at Thunder Bay which is really cool.

Well, enough about this camping trip for now. Hope you all have a lovely week!
