Children's Church

A few weeks ago in my Children's Church class that I teach here, I was getting really frustrated. Trying to get a group of about 25 kids to listen to you tell a Bible story for about 15 minutes is like trying to pull teeth!! It doesn't help matters much because I still do not speak fluent Spanish! Wven if I wanted to say something like, " Sit down and be quiet right now before I strangle you!!" I couldn't, because I don't know how to say that. (my husband won't teach me either..lol) In spite of my frustration I still love my kids, they are all pretty good, just normal like every other kid and would rather be playing or coloring than being quiet. It doesn't help that I have such a big age range in the class, ages 3-12. It's hard to keep them all interested.

One little boy in my class, who is about 5, while I was teaching was just sitting there very patiently, the story was taking longer than usual because every few seconds it seems I was stopping and telling them to be quiet, get back in your seat and so on. Well, finally after about 15 minutes of this, that little boy looked at me and said, "Teacher, are you going to read that WHOLE book today?" He was quite relieved when I told him no!
So, in spite of my struggle with the Spanish language, we always manage to have fun in class anyways!
