After touring San Juan Island, we took the ferry to Orcas Island. Orcas is less touristy than SJ Island, but it still has lots to see and do. We stayed at another pet-friendly B&B. Our room included a basket for the dog, dog dishes and poop bags.
We visited Rosario Resort that includes a nicely restored Arts and Crafts inspired mansion (now used as a museum) that was built as a private home over 100 years ago for Robert Moran. Moran also donated thousands of acres of park and we went to the top of Mount Constitution in Moran State Park to look at the views in all directions.
Another interesting stop was at Orcas Island Pottery that opened in 1945 and continues today with some members of the original family still making pottery.
After our delightful time on the San Juans, we returned to Vancouver where husband arranged for a number of our friends to join us for dinner. What a nice way to finish my mini-vacation.
