I was on the fence for a while, but the votes have been tallied and the verdict is in: my job is AWESOME!!
I started at Scranton Financial Group three weeks ago, after spending the same amount of time working for FTD Flowers (which I'm pretty sure is a gateway to Hell).
SFG, however, is a "real" job. You know, Monday through Friday, 9-5. I'm like an actual adult now, (well maybe, sort of). I get up early. I carry a brief case. I drink two cups of coffee a day.
My co-workers are incredibly nice and helpful. The work I'm doing actually requires the use of my brain, which is more than I can say for 90% of the jobs I've previously had.
But the absolute best part...my boss takes us out for happy hour! I went out after quittin' time today with some of my fellow employees to a lovely establishment called the Blue Crab. I ordered my standard cocktail - a Midori Sour. Drank it down, enjoyed the company of my co-workers, and then attempted to pay my tab.
I was immediately told to put my trusty debit card away, for David Scranton - owner and founder of Scranton Financial Group and the Advisor's Academy - was footing the bill! Sweet!!!
After the Crab, it was on to Aspen Restaurant, where for some reason we needed a reservation to stand at the bar and have a drink (???). No need to fear, the local dive was right across the street.
So then it was over to the Monkey Farm Cafe - it's just as classy as it sounds - for a round of Bud Lites. After an awkward encounter with some shady individuals (it's the Monkey Farm, after all), I bid adieu to the lovely employees of SFG, and made my way back home.
Merry Friday to all, and to all a good nightcap!
