What a gorgeous Saturday morning it is!
The sun is shining!
The past week it’s either been raining or snowing – overcast and no sunlight to cheer me up.
But today, I’m happy to see the blue sky and to squint my eyes into the bright shining globe of the
morning sun.
Sitting outside on the deck in a lawn chair that I forgot to put away in the shed, I know that the temperature is only 30F but I could care less.
It doesn’t matter much to me what the temperature is – if the sun is shining, it’s a good day.
I believe that no matter who/what you are; you require sunlight for optimum health (unless you live under a rock or at the bottom of the ocean).
Some folks live under conditions where they just don’t get enough exposure to the sun.
They find themselves suffering with all kinds of symptoms (you can Google them later).
But the most common complaint and an ever- so- popular one these days is DEPRESSION.
Modern science has labelled it as “seasonal affective disorder†or “sunlight deficiency.â€
Western medicine is quick to prescribe antidepressants or ultra-violet lamps when common sense tell us that all we need to do is get out into the sunlight!
Natural sunlight is not available in capsule form although some people find that a vitamin D supplement helps them.
But you see? That’s exactly what sunlight does naturally – when it hits the skin on your body, it turns fat cells into vitamin D!
Just a few minutes each day (even if it’s just your face) in the sunlight (without sunscreen) and I said just a FEW minutes, looking directly into the sun for a second or two, will help and trigger the natural processes of your body and keep you well.
That’s enough. Get out there!
I’m going back outside to bask again for awhile . . . .
Party on xxx
