Awhile back I was visiting a relative of mine and she, like all of us, had been going through some life changing experiences – some not too pleasant.
Anytime that we’ve been on the phone or together in person I’ve tried to maintain a positive attitude and often spoken about my Daily Gratitude Journal and things that I do for myself to keep me focused on life’s good stuff and encouraged her to do the same.
She also knows that I practice ‘visualization’ and has been a witness to some of the manifestations of this concentration.
However, this one particular day she wasn’t in the best frame of mind when we talking about how we should concentrate on giving thanks for all we have and projecting all that we want to come into our lives.
She looked at me and said, “I wish you would stop forcing your will on other people!â€
I was shocked and speechless.
I felt hurt.
Some time has passed yet her words still come back to haunt me.
By wishing, hoping and/or projecting things for other people, was I actually instrumental in them happening?
Then this morning by chance, I read this from one of my many inspirational books;
“You can most certainly help others through your thoughts, and they can help you. Every good thought you send to another is a living force. However, the person you are sending the thought to has to be asking for the same thing you are sending. If the person does not want it, then they are not in harmony with your thought frequency, and it will not penetrate them.
You cannot create in another’s life against their will, but if it is something they want, your thoughts are a real force that helps them.â€
Therefore, I am still inspired to continue my thoughts and concentration of positivity for myself and others.
Whether you’re receptive to it or not is entirely up to YOU.
