The sun came out this afternoon and although it's not as warm as it's been earlier this week, I couldn't resist getting outside for a few rays of golden sunshine on my face. I decided to start cleaning up the back yard. Heavily treed, there's always a multitude of branches and twigs to clean off the lawn so I got busy.
You may or may not know that I live in a small town and my yard backs onto a creek or small river which runs right through the center of town.
I'm able to enjoy the "white noise" of running water almost year round as my bedroom faces the back yard and I always have my window open a little, all year long.
This last week has been one of melting and thawing here. Fortunately for us, things have melted at a reasonable rate and no flooding has been reported. However,my sump pump in the basement is coming on maybe once every hour - but that's a good thing! Everything's under control down there! However, the banks of the creek have disappeared and been replaced by the heavy spring run off. It thunders and rolls right now as it surges past on into Golden Lake. It's rather exciting!
