My Little Work Rant

Good morning. It's a Sunday and many of you will be hanging out with family and friends or just taking time to yourself. Me? I have to work. I was to open the store up at 1pm, but nope. I have catering orders going out this afternoon at 1:30pm, so I have to be in there at 10:30am. Unlike some places that get their products pre packaged (some things we do, but not all), I have to cook the noodles, fry up the the chicken that was breaded for me the night before (we fillet and bread them too), put the galic bread in the oven (we cut, salt ,and butter those as well), made the dough for the pizzas, etc.
Yes, I will be having the time of my life cooking, preparing, and putting it all together all by my little 'ol self. No one will be there to help me. I am a one woman wrecking crew for this little pizza joint to use at their expense (which isn't much...hell, the drivers start out at $5 an hour and have been for 8-10 years now). For all that we do there, even the managers don't start at anything higher than $8 an hour. The owner is just an individual that doesn't seem to appreciate what his employees do for him. This is why we have such a turn over of employees. We don't even have coupons anymore and prices went up on things there...but do we get anything out of it? Nope. No one really gets any benifits (in fact, I think the only person that does, is the store manager and he is the only one that works full-time). He is basically running the business to the ground.
I am so glad that I get other expenses on the side (child support when the bio logical father feels like it, and my son's SSI money, and help from my fiancee) or we would be in the poor house.
Well, I supose, I have to get ready. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday...

That sounds like a difficult job to do, not to mention that it sounds like it's no fun to work there.

I agree with Ducky! There has to be a better place to work than this gip joint.

that sounds lousy, there has got to be better places to work for someone with experience in food service!

Try to enjoy the solitude Yvonne. I know it stinks being at work though.

Yup, that was a little rant! If you don't mind my saying so, cooking up a storm with no one looking over your shoulder doesn't sound all that bad. Although the pay is.
