Beedith vs the Eic -- the Penultimate Chapter

Yet another set of letters from the Evil Insurance Company and the State of Arizona Department of Insurance a few weeks ago, requiring one more appeal letter before the State can investigate my complaint. With a deadline of August 1st. I did it last week, on time, after much procrastination, and am feeling great relief. Some day this will be resolved. I'm so grateful that the EIC is not my husband's employer's coverage provider any longer. We've been back with a Good Company again since May, and my medication is being paid for. Thank you G-d.

Procrastination has been a long-time challenge for me. I put off difficult or unpleasant tasks, anything stressful or requiring confrontation, for as long as possible. Right now I'm putting off working on my home office files. Fortunately I've got a deadline, since next week Da Organizer is coming to set up a filing system for me.

Da Organizer is a wonderful woman named Vanessa who helps us by pet-sitting, cleaning, unpacking, organizing cabinets, and generally helping "get things done" when I can't do them myself. She even took me to get my Arizona driver's license. I like her a lot. I'm grateful to have found her. She took care of Dill and Silk and Robert's apartment when he was on his own for those nine months.

Back to the files -- or, to be more accurate, folders filled with jumbled mixed-up papers. When we moved from California, I spent weeks going through boxes of papers that had accumulated over the four years since our previous move. Wound up having five boxes commercially shredded. Junk. Kept one and one-half boxes worth. It's amazing the sheer volume of paper documents our lives generate. I'm committed to not having that happen again. It's just an overwhelming task, and so I've delayed beginning to work on it.

I did complete the first step -- a list of categories and names/contents for folders. So that's a start.
