Positive Thought, Does Work!

This is a totally BRILLIANT article on the power, of
'POSITIVE THINKING'.
I came across it whilst reading our local newspaper on-line, this afternoon:
A DAD who defied the odds and beat cancer is urging others to follow his example and take a leap of faith.
Mike Adlam was found slumped in his bedroom covered in blood.
Doctors diagnosed him with cancer of the liver, a rare form of the killer disease, giving him just a year to live.
But despite the odds being against him, the dad-of-four refused to give up hope and managed to beat the disease.
He's now trying to give something back, and embarking on a series of fund-raising events including a 40ft cliff jump, despite a fear of heights.

Mr Adlam, of Aneurin Close, in Sketty Park, said: "It's not all doom and gloom.
"If you met me, you would never believe that I have had cancer.
"But, in April 2007, I collapsed at home, my wife found me on the bedroom floor — there was blood everywhere.
"I had to be taken into intensive care. I was there for a week.
"I had seen my doctor before because I was jaundiced.
"I was doing building work at the time and was fit as a fiddle — but I suddenly found out I had liver cancer."
Because of his condition he also started to suffer from subtle personality changes, brought on by encephalopathy, a condition linked to the disease.
He underwent a series of injections to kill off the cancerous growth from his liver.
Against the odds, the 51-year-old underwent a liver transplant, a procedure only open to a small number of people.
But for more than 18 months he was nursed back to health so he would be able to withstand a transplant.
That was three-and-a-half months ago, and Mr Adlam believes his positive thinking helped him through the difficult time.
Now he is fighting fit and helping to raise money for cancer charities.
His cliff jump helped £2,200 roll in for the charity Cancer Research UK.
Mr Alder said he would not be alive today without his operation or his positive thinking.
He said: "The reason why I am alive is that I am the way I am.
"In August, when the fun run for Cancer Research UK arrived in Swansea, I thought I would like to do something. A friend of mine, Bill, had once bet I would not jump off a cliff because I was a bit scared of heights. But I thought if I jumped off a cliff, people would be more interested, as I had cancer.
"The main reason I jumped off the cliff was to give hope to those who are told they have cancer."
As well as the cliff jump, he did an hour-long walk, and a 30-feet abseil.
He said he was grateful to everybody for their sponsorship and support.
The former author said people should never ever give up hope.
He added: "When you are told you have cancer, you think 'that's it'.
"I never give up hope — I never do."

Excellent!

Good post. I know someone who could do with this. Pity it's too long to post on facebook.
