I have been playing poker, online for almost 4 years now. I am self-taught and have had many ups and downs, in my game. When I first began, I didn't even know what odds were!!! Can you believe that?!?!?!
I think back, to my younger years and watching; my father, uncles, and grandfather's---all sitting around the table, with their hush-hush, friendly banter. This was way back when, when children should be seen and not heard.
By watching this, I began learning the game, with this understanding: that this is truly a "gentlemen's game".
I recently cut back on playing, due to the constant loss with the best of hands. After speaking my mind and asking, what would provoke you to call my all-in, with 35 off suit, I am told to "go die", "get aids", you name it....
Of course, now that I have a true understanding of the game, I feel compelled to tell this child, who is still probably getting his jollies from the JcPenney catalog--how you should really play the game.
There is no respect in the game, any longer. Kids that are barely able to drink, legally, are winning $100,000.00 tournaments.
The thing that gets me, is that I want that 35 offsuit call, every time, I get my chips in with the best hand. Sadly, it is usually those random hands, without ODDS, that are winning the pots.
I cannot help but wonder if this is a computer generated hand, do they know something, I don't??? Why am I losing with the best hand, 86+% of the time??
I guess I would just like to see Poker, become the well respected game, that it use to be. It is no longer about odds or the best hand, it is about LUCK--plain and simple!
Live poker is a completely different game--but in my area, there are very few places to play. I have the skills and knowledge to be a very successful player but I am limited, to where I can play.
I am awwwwwwwwwwwwwww eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!
