The Yanks just concluded a 9-1 homestand that propelled them into first place. However, the caliber of competition was not that good. Sooo, before proclaiming them the reincarnation of Yankees past, such as Micky,Billy, Whitey, Yogi< Moose, Tony and a slew of other great ball players, just remember that the current cast still has a malcontent at 3rd base and a rotation that could be considered one notch below the Red Sox starters. The Bronyx Bombers are buying their way so far with the addition of AJ. CC and Tex.
Tonight they play the Rays and this is a big series for both teams. The Rays have depth on the offensive side, but their pitching is not dominant. The Yankees should split this series, which is bad new for the Rays. TheRays need to beat the Red Sox and the Yankees whenever they meet, as the season is starting to wind on down.
We've got tickets for the RedSox for the first of Sept. This also could be a big series for either team. Pitching will be the key for the Red Sox and it would not surprise us all if the Sox put an end to the wildcard dreams of the Rays.
The Yankees for real? Naw, not as long as that egotistic pill popper is still with them, and who wants him now that he is in the twilight of his career. How about the
Giants?
