Tampa Rays Baseball

WEll, it looks like the boys f rom Tampa do not have the bankroll that the Red Sox and the Yankees do. The one glaring need of the Rays is that of a closer. I feel that the management here does not want to spend any money in order to realize that NOW is the time to act if we are going to get into the playoffs. How in the hell could they not go after Wagner? Man, it gauls me to see the Sox get this man. I am a fan of the Red Sox since the 40's and am a fan of the Rays for the past 3 years, ever since they got Madden for a manager. It burns me to no avail to see the Rays not make a move. I hope that this is not another Cleveland or Miami management team in that the thought process is to pay young, striving ball players and once they get good, to dump them off
We are headeed down to see the Rays play the Sox on Sept 1st. The Tigers are in for a 3 0r 4 game series and then the Yanks. Sadly, the Rays need to win all, and I just do not see it happening. The Starters are lacking a big game pitcher and the bull pen has been adequate. However, the closer is a young man who is really a set up guy, namely, JP Howell. Perhaps Balfour has the mentality of a closer. Just do not know
In any event, we will be pulling for the boys to come through and sweep both the Tigers and the Sox. Well, shoot, if this happens, they can look forward to their last 3 games of the year. I think it is against the New Yawk Yankees. Ouch!!
