Had I been the one at the helm, Lord, I would have followed a different channel, Sailed on calmer waters, Drifted down a quieter stream.
The storms would have been less frequent; the skies more often blue and breezy, Had I been the one Navigating my life, the ebb and flow would have been much softer.
But, Lord, I am not the master of my life, I yielded the helm to you long ago, And so, I sail on into each new sea, Trusting that You will take me saftly to the other shore.
