Who Gets the Glory

We are soon coming to the time when we celebrate a most cherished holiday. We gather as families, eat like pigs, watch football, take a big nap, and call it Thanksgiving. There's nothing really wrong with what we do on that day, but is it really Thanksgiving?

Our God has again blessed America with so much of the best that the world has to offer. Even in difficult financial times, we are still blessed better than most of the world. Poverty is nothing here compared to many places. We live well and live long in America. Yet we are not really grateful to God for all he has done for us.

The media use the day to advertise for profits and God is never mentioned in it. If we are to be thankful, to whom shall be give the thanks. Psalm 100:4 tells us: "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto Him and bless His name. God is the author of all good things and we must be careful to give Him thanks for them.

Another nice thought, Larry. When we are young, we think 'things' are going to make us happy, but as we get older we realize it's just clutter and we should have stored up our treasures in heaven.
