Recipes from Mr. Food

I get an email every day from Mr. Food.com and a lot of them sound very good. This one is an easy version of lasagna. I'm not saying it's cheap, but I'm going to try it sometime.

Layered Ravioli Bake
Layers of frozen ravioli and chopped spinach, spaghetti sauce and cheese make for a hearty casserole. Layered Ravioli Bake is a last-minute meal idea that's made with convenience items straight from our supermarket freezer and refrigerator cases.

Serves: 8
Cooking Time: 55 min
Ingredients
2 (26-ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
1 (9-ounce) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
2 (22-ounce) bags frozen square cheese ravioli
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.

Spread 1 cup spaghetti sauce on bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish. Sprinkle one-third of spinach over sauce, layer one-third of ravioli on next, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese. Pour 1 cup spaghetti sauce on top then evenly distribute 1 cup mozzarella cheese.

Repeat layers 2 more times, ending with sauce.

Cover and bake 50 to 60 minutes, or until hot in center. Remove cover and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Heat 5 more minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let sit 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

That really sounds simple.

I'm working up to trying it. Mr. YouKnow is leaving for Las Vegas at the end of the month, so I want to buy up a bunch of stuff and try some new recipes on him.

I've done a similar recipe with frozen tortellini and it turned out great!

I'm going to remember that when I get ready to try this recipe because I'll need to see what looks good in the freezer compartment. I've got some of those dried tortellini filled with cheese and always put a few into bean soup so we can chase them around in the broth and get that little flavor kick.
