Did you ever hear of that treatment for cancer and other ailments that involves soaking your feet? Toxins come out and color the water, the darker it gets, the sicker you were, and the better the cure. I knew a woman with bladder cancer who really got into it, raved about it, but I have a feeling she knew it was just something to pass the time while she waited to die.
That's a great looking cookie. I've never gotten into making crab cakes - this is feedlot country - but maybe someday I'll give them a try.
It's a little bit like the story of Sleeping Beauty, only this is real life and no happy ending.
That's an interesting 'person.' Looks like they have their suitcase right there handy.
I'm glad you didn't frost them.
It's one of those things we hope won't happen to us, but can't control. I'm trying to figure out if it is beneficial to take the special vitamins in hopes of preventing it entirely, or if one should wait until diagnosed and start taking them to slow the progression.
Taylor is that old already? Wow! I was thinking he was 13 or so. I know what you mean about Whitney Houston - one day everyone is bemoaning that she's such a wreck and the next day she dies, so then she's considered a saint. Reminds me of Michael Jackson.
Great story. The fishermen at my summer place have stories about catching a fish and as they pull it out of the water a snake comes up and grabs it. I'd be tempted to cut the line so the snake could get away.
I hope you like them. I'm always on the lookout for a good brownie recipe that calls for cocoa instead of melting chocolate because cocoa's cheaper and maybe more shelf stable.
I'm glad we quit our jobs early while still healthy enough to enjoy retirement (after saving most of our paychecks through frugal living for many years) and are able to live both of our dreams. His is to live in Las Vegas and bowl in leagues at the casinos, and mine is to live in the Colorado Rockies on a beautiful river. No regrets.
Compassion and caring are not 'cool' and 'awesome' and the younger generations (and that includes 30 somethings) were never taught that older generations have anything to contribute to our society or are worth thinking about because old and disabled and too poor to move to assisted living is also not 'cool' or 'awesome.' Our world today is all about light-speed change fueled by technology, and the old, disabled, and poor are not contributing to that development, or even taking advantage of it, so nobody cares about them. It is very sad for all of us to realize what our village has become.
You too, dear lady. I hope next year is one of your best!
Warmest wishes to all of you there, Fredo. I see that you might get some snow in the next couple of days, should be very pretty.
The noble Quincy. Hugs and pets to all the kitties.
