Spinning & Swimming

I actually woke up at 5 am this morning to take my first spinning class. I've decided that I have to exercise in the morning. I'm so busy in the evenings, and I'm able to talk myself out of it. So, I bit the bullet, packed the gym bag last night, and headed to the gym at 5:30 in the morning. The class was actually kind of fun....believe it or not. It's taught by a 68 year old man who used to be more than 340 pounds. He looks amazing. He knows everyone by name and teases them through out the class. He teaches spinning on Tues and Thurs and Pilates on Wed. I'm going to check out Pilates tomorrow morning. Skinny me here I come!!!!

I had the craziest adventure this weekend. First I met some friends at a show called Pimprov! which is by far the funniest show that I've seen in years. It was six pimps doing improv. I laughed so hard that I spilled my red wine all over my shirt. Normally I want to edit improv shows. The old improv teacher rears her ugly head, but not this time. I couldn’t believe how funny it was. If it comes to your town, you have to check it out!!!

After Pimprov I drove to the Belmont Harbor to pick up the attorney, who had another plan in store for me. He dressed me in my foul weather sailing gear and convinced me to get in a blow up dingy boat to go down to Monroe Harbor to a bar. Mind you it was 10 pm, windy, choppy and cold. I couldn’t believe that I was willingly getting into this little boat. I had to straddle part of the boat. It was ridiculous! I was seriously convinced that we were going to end up on the news, but of course, I had to do it anyway. It was so much fun!!!! The foul weather gear kept me from getting completely soaked, but I still got wet. We wore life preservers of course. The city skyline was breathtaking, and we even boated across the end of Navy Pier and waved to everyone. I loved every second of it, and it was still completely insane. I think that may be why I liked it so much. Once we got there, we drank something called a thunderhead. Sailors like to give their silly mixed drink fun boating names. And then back in the little dingy to get back to Belmont. We got back to the attorney’s place around two in the morning. What a great adventure!!!!

I just went back to spin class last night after a 2 month hiatus. I don't recommend that much time away from spinning....E V E R!
