In Laws What Do You Think?

Got my love of motor bikes from my father in law Wally who lived and breathed them .

Sunday morning was always cleaning time and the afternoon spent riding his bike, as old as they were he kept them in showroom condition and he was his own mechanic, repairs usually done on the back veranda which doubled as a laundry, at the end of it was the Dunny.--(toilet to you mob).

His pride and joy at one time was an 1928 English sloper model 600cc BSA. a fast and flash bike in its day, and it had broken down and it was on the veranda waiting to be repaired, when mum in law Marcia asked him how long it was going to be there, saying it would be in the road for her when washing and was blocking the Dunny.

Wally moved it a bit saying is that enough space now, Marcia called him a smart assed bastard or words to that effect and she was on. Dinkum, they had more arguments than a porcupine has quills, but having 14 kids certainly made up in a hurry.

Well she was on proper, Wally saying he had no where else to fix the bike,
Marcia screaming she had to do the washing and she wasn't gonna break her neck climbing over the bloody thing as well as the kids getting to the dunny, then she said I don't care where you shove it but it aint staying there.

Without saying a word wally went into the house, (I thought he had given in) , when out he came again got the bike and wheeled it into the kitchen , Marcia screaming at him, what the hell do you think your doing. You said you didn't care where I put it he said-------- not blankety blank there Marcia screamed you can take it blankety blank blank outside again

No pipes up Wally its in here and here it stays, wow! I thought to myself, bloody hell wally ya gonna get done here! then Marcia starts crying, Wallys only remark to that tactic was when ya finish bawling you can help me lift it up onto the table!.

At that stage I thought it prudent to shoot through and that bike stayed on the table for 4 days with the kids eating around it.
