I was challenged by Strider a few months ago to write about my grandparents... So here it goes.. Actually it was my Great Grandparents.
So every other week-end we would visit my Grandparents, over the river through the mountains we would go.. My Grandmother had the very best veggie garden in the world in Ellensburg. So the food was great.. Every morning she would call to wake me up, no not from a phone her voice she would call out "Wake up Mary Sunshie". Oh she knew how I hated mornings..LOL Oh how I miss those days :(.. She would fix great peices of long bacon they never shrunk up like mine do still to this day.. Bummer!!! And her eggs were cooked supremely scrumptious.. Her dinners were wonderful everything cooked natural and great.. My Grandmother canned everything you could and more. She made all my clothes. She should have been the greatest seamstress in The Northwest.. Every Sunday mornings I would sit on my Granpas lap and we would watch FOOTBALL!! Great!! You would think I was a boy.. Some saturdays my Papa would take me to the jail house. He was a State Patrolman. I would sit and talk with the prostitutes, in spanish they were very kind. My Papa never discrimated against anyone. He was wonderful.. If they were alive today they would be well over 100 years old.
Now I had myother Grandmother that lived not just a few miles away from us. We would invite her over for dinner she would always bring us gifts from different places from all over the world. She also made us Birthday cakes every Birthdays. She should have been the greatest Baker in the Northwest. So thanks for reading my Granparents story. Just wanted to share a little of Eastern Washington and Pacific Norhtwest.. Picture of Tacoma way back when my granparents were still around. I was not even a thought..
