St. Patty's Day Hell
St. Patty's Day Hell
I would like to say that St. Patrick's Day was a fun-filled day, but then I would be lying through my teeth.
It started out like any other day...making child's lunch for school, getting his breakfast, and then sending him off on the school bus.
Well, at around 10:30am (he had only been in school for an hour in-a-half), the teacher called me again with more bad news. She told me that my son had hit someone in the back again and now he was on his second pending suspension. Since I wasn't sick this time, I went up there. I didn't want to because even that early in the morning, there were drunken people wearing green and acting like fools (whether they were walking or driving).
Anyways, I get to the school and found out that the person that he hit in the back, was a teacher! My son also said that he was kicking the cabinets as well. I was real calm with him at the school and asked him why he had done this. He said because he didn't want to go to music class. Then the principal scolded him telling him that it is unacceptable behavior and it will not be tolerated. He also asked my son what could of happened. When my son answered, he asked "and what else could of happened?" When my son didn't know the answer to that, the principal said that the teacher could of called the police. He also said that the next time it happens, he could be kicked out of the school. I completely understand where he is coming from. It is unacceptable behavior and it won't be tolerated in our house either. It hasn't been no more than 11 days since the last incident he pulled there!
I was extremely pissed off at my son. When we left and headed to the bus stop, I scolded him as well telling him that this is not a game. "They are not telling you this just to scare you. It is the real deal." I also said that I was so disappointed with him that I didn't want to hear a word out of his mouth until we got home. Needless to say, he is grounded for a longer time now. Probably until Friday...not sure yet. He doesn't get any toys, television, etc, until we feel that he is making an effort and that he fully understands the consequences of his actions. Once that happens, he will slowly get some of those enjoyments back.
He has an appointment with his specialist tomorrow so he won't be attending school. I am going to tell the doctor what has been happening with him, and then ask him for suggestions on what I can do if he ends up getting kicked out of the school if he does this again. he has already been in Day Treatment when he was younger, and at this moment, I am going to rule that out unless the doctor suggests otherwise. He still needs to go to school, but what school will take him if he chooses to keep hurting people?
Anyways, the rest of the evening was alright for the most part. While child was sulking, we ordered out for Chinese food and my son had a turkey and cheese sandwich, an orange, and water (he doesn't like chinese food at all). We were just mentally drained today and said screw cooking!
Forgot to mention that my son was approved for SSI today, so we got a check for $808.35 (I think that was for 2 months worth because I remember them saying we were to get $404 a month for him) and that is why we had the money to have food delivered to the house.
All I can say, is that I hope I get some good advice from the doctor. I mean real good advice because I am just out of options at this moment!
