Apparently, there was an earthquake in Illinois early this morning and many people felt it or were woken up to it in different states. Even here in Wisconsin, my friend called me this morning and said that she felt the bed shake a bit as well but was so tired that she just thought she was having a dream. However, no one in this house, had felt, heard, or woke up to anything, but I was up at 5am this morning and for some reason, I was wide awake because C's alarm clock went off for him to go to work (I wonder if our dog felt or heard it...hmmmm...). I quess it had a magnitude of 5.4 on the scale!
That's kind of freaky because I have never in my life, experienced and earthquake and if I would of been awake, I would of been freaking out. Did any of you experience it? Anyone from Illinois ok? I hope so. I haven't read too much on it.
Well, to calm things down a bit, I will show you my most recent video that I just created this morning. Just a small collection of my photography again:
Well, I am out of here, I am going to see if I can find out more about this earthquake!

Glad no one was hurt. We get earthquakes here in Hawaii sometimes. We had one about a year and a half ago and it knocked out power all over the islands. I hate earthquakes. They scare me.
If you were driving in a car you would feel it. DD#2 was sitting on a log one minute and flat on her back with the legs draped over the log the next. She couldn't figure out how that happened until later when I told her about the earthquake.
Thanks for the video help. I'll have to work on it.
It has been "quaking" off of the Oregon Coast, too. They say the earthquakes are the type that occur when a volcano is about to errupt. What is weird is there isn't any volcano where these quakes are taking place. Who knows... maybe tomorrow we will have a volcano off the Oregon Coast.
You did a great job with your video. I would like to figure out how to make a great video someday.
Annie :o)
The last earthquake I felt; I was sitting, reading, at the table in my dining room and I looked up to see the walls on either side of the room swaying back and forth. Freaky!
The largest earthquakes ever recorded in the US occurred very near yesterday's site on the New Madrid fault where Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky meet along the Mississippi River. They happened in 1811 and 1812. After the largest in February 1812 for two days the river flowed north! The quake would have measured over 8.0 on the Richter scale. The cities of St. Louis and Memphis are in very serious jeopardy the next time that fault moves!
Yeah I heard it on the news...didn't feel anything here, or if I did I slept thru it..
