Well, I hear the the rebates (or refunds or whatever)are "on the way" - to use another artillery term, meaning the rounds are heading for the target (so much more "now" than "in the mail") Mine anyway (which is only about 10% of the tax I just paid - and I AM retired!) is supposed to be "in the wireless". Oh well, maybe token gestures are better than no gestures at all. I have to try to remember though that, small as is, it IS income. One time before when they did this, I did not report it as income and much later got one of those IRS letters, pointing out that I owed the tax on that income PLUS interest for all the time it took them to get back to me. I do sound ungrateful! In case the CIA kicks this out as worthy of reading. I do say THANK YOU, MR. BUSH! - You're doing a heck of a job!
So I expect at any time to see a deposit announced in my account. No, Wait! I also heard that they have a new software program directing the deposits. If this is anything like the software directing the smart bombs, I had better expect that my neighbor will get it instead, representing "collateral advantage" - an unavoidable, if unplanned for, consequence of modern government finance. Well my neighbor may tell me about it and we can straighten it out - unless deposit notice is in Chinese
