I managed to find a clip of a very long running series
here in the UK, of a programme (originally called
Emmerdale Farm and was a 'thick' Yorkshire accent, but over time as it became more popular, so the producers of the show
widened its appeal by including characters from different parts of the country, notably, Londoners) It Is now
called simply Emmerdale.
(The nurse, in the opening scene though has a slightly
'Welsh' accent.
One of the main 'families' of Emmerdale are a rustic bunch
of people - they are extremely loyal to each member and
don't like to have too much with the police force (if you know what I mean) hence the scene where a 'Dingle' family member, is preparing lunch for his recent bride who has been
out jogging, returns to study for her 'police' course . . .
The Dingle family, were originally from 'good Christian folk', therefore, all thier names are biblically
orientated - (not too sure, if 'Marlon' [the young husband in the scene I mentioned] is, from the bible though.
A few years ago, at a charity event that was going on in the UK, 'The Dingles' got together and played the last clips
song - it was a huge hit, in the Uk and was released
onto the market, where it did extremely well!!!!
If, I am unable to get it onto 'this' post, I will do another one.
Anyhow, here is the Emmerdale series
video:
Cor - I think I dun it!!!
(bad memory - I thought they called themselves 'the dingles'
in this, but, they had called themselves 'The Woolpackers'
after the local pub, in the series!
This was made a long time ago, it good to the 'old cast' again!!!
