Signs

I have just been looking at an old man
walking hand in hand with an alien.
The alien was about half his size 7 had an antennae coming out the top of his head!
(No, I am not off my trolley [well, maybe
a bit,] but not such that you'd really
'notice')!! Well after staring at it for a
moment or three, I realized that it was
meant to portray an old man with a child
who had 'bunches' in her hair - denoting
that some, pedestrians in the area, would
be slow moving. I think, however, it was
telling people to 'walk your aliens here' . . .

Apparently, French motorists are getting
baffled by a new set of road signs, an
example is a huge  bunch of grapes - not
any kind of fruit-related hazzard, but,
meant to signify that 'wine producing'
produce, can be bought nearby!!

Back in the UK, the university of Hull,
found that British road signs are also a
problem, too many of them could be making
driving even more, dangerous. The amount
of advertising and signage typically present
ina a British city centre are visually
distracting and could be pushing up the
number of accidents!!! Yeah, I got to agree
with that - considering all the big 'bill-
boards that are around 'Neath' for example,
as you are leaving the (Morrisons)
supermarket and turning (um . . . let me
think . . .) right, to head back toward
Aberdulais, we've got the big 'zoars ark'
advertising bill-board (often, after seeing
that, I have gasped at Bedrock, telling him
that we had forgotten the dog food and to
turn around)! (mind you, it's a good job I
had remembered it or, we would have
had to go back . . . hmmmm - forget that
sign, it comes in handy)!!

Wales is perhaps one of the few, European
countries that has managed to completely
baffle and raise language issues in one go,
with its road signs! Most 'notoriously',
was when cyclists travelling between
Penarth and Cardiff, were left 'confused'
by a bi-lingual road sign, that told them
in English, to 'dismount' and in Welsh,
warned against 'bladder problems' . . . !!!
Somehow, in the Welsh translation,
'cyclists dismount' became 'Llid y bledren
dymchwelyd' - meaning 'bladder
inflammation upset'!!!! (The local council
did, get it sorted) lol

Double 'meanings' in Austria have meant
that for the last couple of years, one small
town named F u c k i n g - (I kid you not! - I
had never heard of it before, neither had
Bedrock [and he's driven all over there] ) -
This small town anyway, had to have
'anti - theft' measures on its signs, coz
the British tourists kept pinching them!!lol
They also issued a plea, that all holidaying
Brits were to STOP STEALING their
'F U C K I N G ' signs !!! Oh, I was 'rolling'
when I read that!!!!!!!

The ' 7 ', in the third line down, ought to have been an ' & ' but I
typed it incorrectly - I am not bothering, to try and 'edit' it, as it is taking absaloutely 'AGES' to do it!!
