There’s an on-going lawsuit against a group of alleged counterfeits who presented fake £500,000 notes to the bank of England. Everyone knows bank notes in the UK only go up to £50, right? Wrong: there is a special class of bank notes in the called “giants and titans”, which are printed in denominations of £1 million and £100 million. The notes are legal tender, but the Bank remains confident that a thief so audacious as to try to spend it would be traced quite quickly.
