I just got back from my meeting with Liggett Stashower , an advertsing agency and Public Relations firm here in Cleveland, Ohio. Liggett wanted to talk about blogging for businesses, as it is becoming a strategy for PR and advertising agencies to place their client's product or service into the blogosphere to start the chatter about a product and let the viral nature of blogging and the Internet increase exposure for their client.
I met with Jennifer Jackson, new media planner in the brand contact division, as well as Monica Wesolowski, Jim Brazytis and Michael Pocci. One of the most intersting points of our conversation was something that Jim Brazytis brought up in regards to PR companies trying to do searches in the blogosphere. Jim said that Technorati was just not cutting it as a way to find blogs that were niche specific for his client's products that he needed to place into the blogosphere. Will business blog search differentiate itself from global blog search? I would say yes, just as niche search engine verticals developed, so too will niche blog verticals and niche business blog verticals.
