Thanks to my wife for understanding my need to be out on the water two full days this weekend. Friday me and some friends started fishing a few hundred yards from Davis Bessie Nuclear Power among a few hundred other boats in about 9-11ft of water. It was a slow day for us and we only picked up 4 small walleye. The entire time the radio chatter was telling of good catches of larger fish further out trolling in the deeper water off of Niagra reef. The next day we tried in close again, but there was no wind and the sun broke out which usually sends the walleye dormant for drift fishing. So we motored out past Niagra reef and found 24-31 ft of water and started our troll going North NorthWest and 4 hours later we had 8 monster walleye, not one was under 4 lbs. The biggest was near 10 Lbs and there were a bunch in the 6-7LB range. When we got back to the ramp, we were the talk of the marina as we cleaned our fish. We took quite a few pictures, hope to get them up here soon. It was a beautiful day on the water, calm seas and no wind and 70 degree sunshine.
