Virtue of Patience, Dementia-land

I Think I'm Going to Hell - My Morning Jacket

Had a rough month - psycho aide yelling and making veiled threats, and scrutinized by "state". Fortunately cleared by "state"; heck, I openly admitted what "I said", was the ROUTINE banter with a resident. Taken out of the context of the routine, add in "malicious" intent, and what "I said" takes on a new meaning.Fortunately, state inspector had experience in dementia care and saw the original intent and context (with plenty of explaining by me, and "vague" questions to other supervisors who immediately guessed what the real question was - if resident "H", then Van involved, and if what they think the question is about - see it in action, routinely happens - resident initiates it/ seeks it out; and in a bizarre way, works well, resident happy and content under that routine). So part 1( the investigation) ends well. But as a result, to prove to state that allegations taken seriously, I was "suspended" for 1 day(was @ my limit of stress anyway, would have called-in sick).

Part 2: Told, point blank, this not about Gloria - psycho aid.Subtle hints, "read between the lines". Employee X. My anxiety running high, took it personally. Said NOTHING to staff or residents (several residents clearly became agitated that I not engaging them(not sure what I could say without being taken out of context- see insanity rule). While I was retreating behind my self-defensive walls, others of higher importance were taking notes. The virtue of patience in dementia-land. LOL, employee X, her days now numbered, without me saying a thing. She now attempting to claim workers' comp for an injury that she clearly told other CNA's that it happened @ home. Her 3rd round of "retraining" (damn it, why do I always get the rejects needing re-training?), her illegal use of restraints noted (not when I was there), and now a fraudulent workers' comp claim. Guess i get the last laugh, her credibility shot by her own actions. All I can say is, Thank God, that others- high and low- now see. I was scapegoated for 1 day, meanwhile, unbeknown to me, eyes were watching and taking notes. OK, so now I'm gloating - but I deserve to gloat! God granted me patience, and it is now paying off. My credibility intact, the real problem seen by others. Her days now numbered. Ironically, today I rec'd an AWARD - for perfect attendance( LOL, my 1 day suspension apparently didn't count against me!).

Part3: Am living life, the ups and downs, taking it all in stride. Thanking God for granting me "virtue of patience".
